work experience
Last week we had a work experience student on a placement with my team. He was great, really enthusiastic and keen to learn. There were so many things he asked about that nobody could answer why we do things the way we do 😂
It's been a long time since I did my work experience back in the late 1900s. It got me thinking about the important work things that are different to school...
A lot of your time will be spent figuring out how to do something vs actually doing things.
You can easily spend most of your day trying things that are wrong before you find out the right thing to do. There isn't a person that knows and teaches you the right way. We have to muddle it out by speaking to people who have different bits of the knowledge.
We don't have to call our bosses Sir 😂
Your manager isn't necessarily more knowledgeable or experienced than you, they just have a different set of responsibilities to you.
You don't have to remember everything, just know how to Google it.
and now I've got all 🤯 thinking about how school is years of learning mode then at work you suddenly have to be in doing mode
